Day 4:

Meals: B L

This morning we have an early check out (time TBA) as we have an great day packed with amazing and tasty activities.

In the morning we will head towards Phuket town and the world renowned Blue Elephant Cooking School for a morning market visit followed by a Thai cooking class at the impressive Governor’s mansion.

Blue Elephant is well known worldwide as one of most recognized schools of Thai cuisine and it will be a great and fun course and enjoying your own cooked Thai meal in the elegant rooms of the mansion is a priceless experience.

After lunch at the Blue Elephant it is time to head to the center of the old town to the Memory On On hotel. Built in the 1920’s and recently restored it still stands as one of the great examples of Sino Portuguese architecture in the city. Both European and Asian traits mix to give the building a unique and nostalgic  feel.

Check in time at our hotel for this evening. Phuket town has been overlooked for years and this has preserved the original character of the city it is much an undiscovered gem and the best food is found here. We recommend taking a short rest and prepare for the afternoon program…

At 15.00hs meet your guide and driver at the lobby of the Memory On On Hotel. Our first destination is the Chalong Bay Rum distillery for a great Tropical Cocktail Workshop. Marine and Thibault the owners come from the French Caribbean and they have brought their experience to Thailand making rum with excellent sugar cane from Central and North Thailand.

The result is an excellent aromatic white rum that is just perfect for making cocktails, they give their drinks a Thai spin as they use some very classic ingredients on the preparations such as chilies, kefir lime and lemon grass. Visiting the distillery and making the drinks on the spot is quite an experience.

After enjoying our own made tropical cocktail we will go to the west of the island to watch the sunset from a cliff top restaurant near the Kata View Point to end a great day. Drinks and food at own expense.

We return to Phuket old town later in the evening around 21.00hs for a well-deserved rest after an action packed day.

Tip: If you still have some steam left we recommend visiting some of the local bars all located in the vicinity of your hotel. Saneha on Yaworat road has live music.

Overnight: Deluxe room

Day 5:

Phuket – Ko Yao Noi

Meals: B L

This morning, meet your guide at 7.00am at the lobby of your hotel for a half-day behind the scenes exploration of Old Town Phuket.

So much more than just a beach destination, Phuket was once major trading center on the route between India and China, frequented by Portuguese, French, Dutch and English traders. Phuket’s historic old town offers tantalizing glimpses of this era amid its Thai, Chinese and Muslim shrines, temples, markets, shophouses, cafés and museums.

Begin your walking tour with a stroll through fresh market which in the early morning will captivate you with its showcase of exuberant fruit and vegetables. Don’t be shy and try all the little delicacies such as grilled rice in banana leaf.

Continue to the nearby Buddhist amulet market to learn about these traditional relics, which are collected as good luck charms. If you’re in need of some luck, perhaps consider a purchase (rent) amulets range in price from hundreds of thousands of dollars for authentic antiques to mere cents for mass-produced reproductions.

Next, pay a visit to Temple of the Serene Light (Sang Tham in Thai), the oldest Chinese temple in Phuket. Recently remodeled and still very active, this shrine offers a fascinating glimpse of local spirituality in action. Stop into a nearby family-owned pharmacy and tea house and then break for a quick bite of Muslim Roti and tea at a local cafe. Continue to a local coffeehouse owned by the Nong Family that is attached to their family home. Here stop for a drink and, if available, a chance to meet with Mr. Nong and learn about his daily life and work.

After the walk is time to check out from your hotel and head to the small local pier at Bang Rong. From this small pier the charismatic Ban Galim will take us in his long tail to the small island of Ko Naka were we can relax and enjoy the views of the bay of Phang Nga in the distance. The views and the ocean here are just breathtaking.

Later we continue to the little island of Yao Noi. On arrival at the pier we transfer to our stunning resort over looking Phang Nga Bay, check in and prepare to enjoy two wonderful days on the island.

Overnight : Deluxe  Beach Villa

Day 6

Ko Yao Noi

Meals: B L

Wake up to the sound of waves leaping close to your beach villa. Enjoy breakfast at leisure, maybe have a dip in the ocean, the views form the resort of the islands far away in Krabi is stunning.

At 10.00 meet a driver that will take you to the house of our beautiful host for the day, and let the most amazing cooking and personal experience begin.

After a short drive we make our way to a small wooden log cabin amongst rice paddies and roaming buffalo’s to meet our charming hostess, cook, mom, grandma, friend and island chief who will willingly teach you the secrets of her family recipes and unlock the smells & tastes of true Southern Thai delicacies.

This is much more than just a cooking lesson, it’s more a lesson in life taught by someone that has seen & done it all, a truly unforgettable experience.

After lunch  transfer back to your resort.

For this evening we have prepared some for cocktails and some hors d’oeuvres for around one hour… obviously if you wanted to sit a little longer and order additional drinks this would be fine too.

Tip: For dinner I suggest J’taime the Thai French restaurant in town but they are very popular so needs to be booked in advanced.
